Rebecca is an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Registered Childminder and an independent Early Years Trainer and Consultant based in West Sussex.
After qualifying as a teacher and following a successful bookselling and management career Rebecca embarked on a new adventure as a Registered Childminder after her son was born. She soon realised she had found her niche and has continued to enhance her Early Years role, achieving Early Years Professional Status and working as a Childminder Network Coordinator; EYP mentor; Early Years Researcher; Solihull Approach facilitator; and author whilst also continuing to Childmind. Rebecca’s keen interest in supporting and enthusing others led to her co-founding a thriving local Childminding association, ’Magic Minders’. As a registered Childminder Rebecca achieved outstanding grades on 3 consecutive Ofsted inspections. Rebecca continues to provide mentoring and support for local Childminders on a consultancy basis. Rebecca is one half of the Minding the Gap CPD team, who were awarded Highly Commended at the 2017 Nursery World Awards for their successful, innovative Childminder & Early Years conference. In 2018 Rebecca became a judge for the Nursery World Awards, a role she has been invited to continue in 2019. Since 2018 Rebecca has been working with the West Sussex Practice Improvement team, delivering safeguarding and EYFS training across the county, and helping to develop a new Childminder conference, due to take place autumn 2019. With over 18 years’ experience in the Early Years sector Rebecca is a staunch advocate of play based, child-centred education and childcare. This philosophy is at the centre of her training and a message she shares widely as an active member of the Early Years community. Rebecca is a member of PACEY, The Early Years Alliance and Early Education Rebecca Martland 07920520380 [email protected] www.childrenatheart.net |
